## Description

Grupo Escoteiro Georg Black 001/RS is the scouting group affiliated with SOGIPA in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Named in honor of Georg Black, a German gymnastics instructor and educator who helped establish scouting at SOGIPA, the group has supported the movement for generations and celebrated 100 years of activity in 2013. It describes itself as the oldest scout group still active in Brazil.

The group offers youth development through scouting, a worldwide, educational, voluntary, nonpartisan and nonprofit movement founded by Robert Baden-Powell. Its programs serve children and young people across age groups: Alcatéia for ages 6.5 to 10, Scout sections for ages 10.5 to 15, Sênior for ages 15 to 17, and Pioneiro for ages 18 to under 22. Participants learn through teamwork, outdoor activities, shared responsibility and challenges suited to their stage of development. The program emphasizes values expressed in the Scout Promise and Law, including honor, fraternity, loyalty, altruism, respect and discipline.
