## Description

GEOS-AEL is a coastal planning and environmental consultancy that supports local authorities and government services in understanding, protecting, developing, and managing coastal areas. Its work focuses on helping clients make informed decisions about shoreline spaces while balancing economic development, landscape conservation, and ecological stability. The consultancy provides expertise and project support for coastal managers, including advice and monitoring throughout planning and implementation. GEOS-AEL also offers photography services focused on the sea and coastline, providing access to an image library and producing commissioned photographic projects. Its photo-reportage work explores the relationships between societies and coastal territories, adding a visual perspective to its broader understanding of coastal environments. The organisation is led by geographer Erwan Le Cornec, who has directed GEOS-AEL for more than 20 years and brings together specialist knowledge of coastal areas with a practice in photography. Across its consulting and creative services, GEOS-AEL promotes coherent, sustainable uses of the coastline and works with public-sector partners on the challenges facing these environments.
