## Description

Geschichtswerkstatt Eppendorf is a local history organization dedicated to exploring the stories of Hamburg’s Eppendorf district and the people who have lived there. It researches both the area’s past and its changing present, and collects historical materials such as documents, deeds, maps and street plans. The organization makes this history accessible through lectures, exhibitions and guided walks around the neighborhood, offering fresh perspectives on familiar landmarks and less-known places. Its activities include exploring historic village sites, Alster bridges and Hayns Park, as well as programs focused on local memorials, Stolpersteine and the Röhrenbunker. The workshop also shares publications and hosts cultural events, including readings and a regular reading group devoted to the works of Wolfgang Borchert. Residents and visitors are invited to contribute old photographs, documents, cinema tickets and other materials, or to exchange memories of Eppendorf. Based in Martinistraße, Geschichtswerkstatt Eppendorf welcomes community participation and accepts donations to support its work.
