## Description

The Governor General’s Literary Awards (GGBooks), presented by the Canada Council for the Arts, is a prestigious program celebrating the finest literary talent from Canada. Established to inspire a love for reading across the nation, GGBooks recognizes outstanding books by Canadian authors in multiple categories, including fiction, poetry, drama, non-fiction, and literature for young people. Each year, nominations are welcome from publishers until mid-July, culminating in an honorary ceremony for winners and finalists held in Ottawa. The 2023 awards highlighted remarkable works, with celebrated titles such as "A History of Burning" by Janika Oza and "As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow" by Zoulfa Katouh. The initiative promotes an extensive range of literature, ensuring diverse voices and stories are shared and cherished. For avid readers and literature enthusiasts alike, the GGBooks serves as a vital resource to discover acclaimed books while supporting the Canadian literary scene. Follow their journey through social media with #GGBooks2023 for updates and community engagement.
