## Description

Ghada Amer is an internationally recognized artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, ceramics, prints, installations, video, and outdoor gardens. A painter above all, Amer uses thread and needles as artistic tools, drawing on embroidery to challenge the male-dominated history of painting and explore themes of women, gender, and love. Her work also engages with political and social ideas, including through gardens designed to communicate conscious messages.

Amer’s artwork includes embroidered paintings, bronze and metal sculptures, clay ceramics, ceramic wall pieces, freestanding sculptures, and experimental art forms. Her public works include large-scale sculptures such as Big Rumi and Paravent Girls. She also participates in collaborative projects, including work with the Louvre Museum, and has explored mixed-media printmaking.

The artist’s website presents her biography, artwork, news, interviews, and information about current, upcoming, and past exhibitions. Her work is represented by galleries in New York, London, Korea, and South Africa, and is held in prominent museum and institutional collections worldwide. Recent projects include exhibitions and artist residencies in the United States and Mexico.
