## Description

The Ghost Army Legacy Project is dedicated to honoring and preserving the remarkable history of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops and the 3133rd Signal Company, Special, renowned for their ingenious use of deception during World War II. These brave soldiers employed inflatable tanks, sound effects, and creative tactics to mislead enemy forces, significantly reducing casualties and altering the course of battles. The culmination of their story was marked by the Congressional Gold Medal, awarded in a prestigious ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on March 21, 2024, after years of lobbying led by Representative Annie Kuster and Senator Ed Markey. This honor, signed into law by President Joe Biden, reflects the importance of their contributions to military tactics and reconnaissance. The Ghost Army Legacy Project not only seeks to commemorate these extraordinary efforts but also offers resources, archival materials, and support for ongoing initiatives to ensure that the legacy of these unsung heroes is never forgotten. Join us in our mission to acknowledge their impact and preserve their stories for future generations.
