## Description

Grenland Havpadleklubb (GHPK) is a Norwegian sea-kayaking club based in Langesund, with the Grenland archipelago and Telemark coast as its home waters. Founded in 1995, it brings together around 250 members in a welcoming, informal community focused on paddling, learning and sharing outdoor experiences. The club organises trips through sheltered fjords and among islands, as well as outings along the open coast, with activities generally concentrated from April to September. Members can paddle for training, relaxation, play or nature observation, and some group trips use the club’s lavvu tent with a stove. GHPK also runs social club evenings, beginner instruction and safety training. Winter sessions include outdoor cold-water practice and indoor pool training, where members work on rescue techniques and Greenland rolls. Paddling with a Greenland paddle is a distinctive club tradition. Members may borrow kayaks and equipment through the club’s website, subject to membership and registration. GHPK emphasises safety, developing individual skills, inclusive participation and low-impact conduct that respects wildlife and protected areas.
