## Description

Gilbard is a Brussels-based non-profit organisation established in Anderlecht in 2019. Working collectively, it develops local, sustainable projects shaped by the needs and context of the communities it serves, with art and design at their centre. Its approach is built around experimenting, exchanging and valuing resources, and it brings people together through a welcoming space for shared activity.

Gilbard recovers and redistributes materials for reuse, encourages the sharing of resources, and supports local engagement and creative experimentation. It also designs and manages projects with local partners. Its work spans urban furniture and public-space installations, scenography, exhibitions, publications, workshops, events and residencies. Examples in its project portfolio include benches, mobile kitchens, play structures, displays and community-oriented spaces. Through these varied formats, Gilbard connects design practice with everyday local life, making room for collaboration, resourcefulness and cultural activity. Its projects reflect a practical, context-sensitive approach in which reused materials and shared resources can contribute to both creative work and stronger neighbourhood connections.
