The Gingerbread House Child Advocacy Center is a community-based organization in Shreveport, LA, dedicated to serving abused children and their families. Since 1998, they have worked closely with local law enforcement, child protective services, district attorney's offices, and medical and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive support and services. The Gingerbread House coordinates interviews and investigations, ensuring evidence gathering and documentation necessary for criminal prosecution.

Their advocacy program prepares child victims and families for the criminal justice process, preventing further victimization. Mental health interventions are also provided to aid in the healing process for both victims and non-offending family members. Notably, all services provided by the Gingerbread House are completely free of charge to the victim's family and referring agency.
