## Description

GINMAKU Japanese Film Festival is a Zurich-based festival dedicated to Japanese cinema, presenting films that shed light on Japan’s “shadow side.” Established in 2014, it brings Japanese film to audiences in Switzerland and offers a focused cultural programme built around screenings. The festival’s listed venues include Cinema Houdini and Riffraff in Zurich, with the 2027 edition scheduled for 25–30 May, Tuesday through Sunday. Earlier site information also references an edition from 28 May to 1 June 2025, reflecting the festival’s recurring programme across different years.

Alongside its film programme, GINMAKU shares news through a newsletter and acknowledges support from partners across media, hospitality, fashion, festivals and cinema. Its listed partner locations include Europaallee, Limmatplatz and Bellevue. The organisation provides information about the festival, its supporters and ways to offer support, as well as an imprint and privacy statement. Visitors can use its website to follow festival news and updates. GINMAKU’s central offering is a public Japanese film festival in Zurich, connecting local audiences with cinema from Japan through scheduled screenings and festival communications.
