## Description

Giving Children Wings is a South African network of therapy and learning centres focused on helping children develop the skills and confidence to reach their potential. Founded by occupational therapist Engela van der Heever-Greyling, the program combines occupational therapy techniques, perceptual development and movement with remedial reading methods and basic language skills. Its integrated, step-by-step approach supports children with reading and concentration difficulties, starting with pre-reading skills and progressing toward reading comprehension.

Services include one-to-one reading sessions following an individual evaluation, with activities to strengthen concentration and eye movement, practice sight words and improve reading speed. The centres also offer tailored study-method training to help children summarise, study and remember school subjects, as well as mathematics and science tutoring at selected branches and grades. Some activities may use a brainwave stimulation machine. Through online occupational therapy tips, the team shares practical child-development activities with parents using household items and toys.

Giving Children Wings operates through trained instructors and franchise owners, with branches in communities across South Africa.
