## Description

The National Resource for Network Biology (NRNB) advances the study of biological networks through freely available, open-source software, databases, visualizations, and computing resources. Its work supports researchers investigating networks across multiple scales, including gene and protein interactions, drug interactions, and cell-to-cell communication, to better understand biological systems and disease. NRNB builds on the Cytoscape cyberinfrastructure, a widely used platform for network analysis, and develops tools for visualizing, analyzing, and interpreting network data. Its resources include Cytoscape and its App Store, Cytoscape.js, cBioPortal, GeneMANIA, NDEx, WikiPathways, and other specialized applications. Research projects explore methods such as network-based stratification of cancer patients and the construction of gene ontologies from molecular interaction data. NRNB also offers tutorials, courses, workshops, training events, help desk assistance, and opportunities for collaboration. It has supported more than 100 collaboration and service projects. An NIH Biomedical Technology Research Center supported by NIGMS from 2011 to 2025, NRNB brings together research, software development, and education to enable network-based biomedical discovery.
