Welcome to G. I. Wishes - A Pet for a Vet, a brand dedicated to saving pet lives and enriching the lives of veterans and their families.

Since June of 2011, we have been forging partnerships with rescue groups, veterans organizations, the National Guard, and veterinarians to fulfill our mission of matching rescue animals with veterans and families for companionship purposes. We act as a conduit and clearinghouse, working closely with all interested parties to ensure the right animal is matched with the right veteran or family. But our commitment doesn't end there.

We also encourage individuals to open their hearts and homes to foster a deploying soldier’s pet. We believe that no one should have to give up their beloved pet because they have decided to serve their country. At G.

I. Wishes, we honor the memory of Christy Peterson, a Navy Veteran and a Founding Board Member and Secretary of our organization. Her passion for helping veterans led us to establish The Christy Peterson Endowment Fund, dedicated to uniting rescue animals with veterans and their families.
