## Description

The Glimmerglass Festival is a renowned professional non-profit summer opera company that specializes in producing new productions each season. Led by Artistic & General Director Rob Ainsley since 2022, Glimmerglass is committed to delivering four new fully staged productions, including three operas and one work of American musical theater, all performed with full orchestra and a large cast, without sound amplification. In addition to these productions, Glimmerglass offers a variety of special performances, cabarets, concerts, lectures, and symposiums throughout the season. With its picturesque location in Cooperstown, the festival attracts an international audience that gathers at the Alice Busch Opera Theater to experience world-class opera and music theater. Beyond its performances, Glimmerglass aims to engage and support emerging artists and interns by providing professional training and performance opportunities. The company's mission is to produce new, little-known, and familiar operas and musical theater in innovative productions while inspiring dialogue around meaningful issues of the day through song and story. Moreover, Glimmerglass actively collaborates with regional organizations, schools, and businesses to enhance life in Central New York. By doing so, it seeks to create a world onstage, backstage, and in the audience that celebrates and supports all people. To support its mission and programs, Glimmerglass offers various ticket packages, single tickets, and gift cards for purchase. The festival also welcomes donations from individuals who wish to contribute to its artistic endeavors and community involvement. Located at PO Box 191, 7300 State Highway 80 in Cooperstown, NY, Glimmerglass can be contacted through its Box Office at (607) 547-2255 or its Administrative Office at (607) 547-0700. The festival receives public funding and is a member of respected organizations in the performing arts industry.
