## Description

The Global Disability Summit (GDS) is an international mechanism dedicated to achieving real change for persons with disabilities. The GDS brings together global, regional, and national stakeholders to mobilize innovative and impactful commitments on disability inclusive development and humanitarian action. Its main objectives include raising global attention on disability inclusion, building capacity of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), providing a platform for stakeholders to make commitments, and showcasing good practices from around the world.

The GDS was launched in 2017 and has since held two successful summits. The first summit, held in London in 2018, set the stage for the global disability movement. The second summit, held virtually in 2022, garnered over 7,000 participants and galvanized new and ambitious commitments. The third Global Disability Summit is scheduled to take place in Berlin in April 2025.
