The Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism (UCCM) was established in 2001 by the GFATM board to combat AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. As a unique public-private partnership at the national level, the UCCM is responsible for coordinating the use of Global Fund resources in Uganda. This multi-stakeholder body ensures national ownership and participatory decision-making in the allocation and oversight of GFATM grants. The Uganda CCM comprises members from the Central Government, Civil Society Organizations, Academic Sector, Private sector, UN agencies, and other Bilateral agencies, reflecting a diverse and inclusive approach to addressing these critical health challenges. Additionally, the UCCM engages in capacity building, resource mobilization, and constituency engagements to support its mission. As the governing body for GFATM resources in Uganda, the UCCM plays a crucial role in shaping the nation's response to these diseases.
