## Description

Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI) is a nonprofit organization that connects historically underrepresented graduates with personalized career mentorship. Its mission is to help first-generation, low-income, and refugee students move from education into employment, secure their first professional roles, and build thriving careers. GMI’s virtual program matches students worldwide with volunteer mentors for structured, one-to-one coaching. Through guided mentorship, participants can strengthen job-readiness skills, build confidence, expand professional networks, and develop AI fluency. GMI offers dedicated student and mentor application pathways, including mentorship portals with 10- and 12-session programs. It also works with universities and youth-serving organizations through youth partnerships, and collaborates with businesses through corporate partnerships. The organization shares student outcomes, global impact information, annual reports, news, and resources, and invites individuals and organizations to support its work. GMI identifies as a United States 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, with a European fund housed by the King Baudouin Foundation. By combining human connection with structured career guidance, GMI aims to broaden access to professional opportunities for young people around the world.
