## Description

Goedgedacht Trust is a South African nonprofit established in 1993 to support the transformation of disadvantaged rural communities in the Western Cape’s West Coast region. Managed by a board of trustees, it works particularly with children and young people in the Swartland, aiming to help rural communities become healthy, thriving and more self-sustaining.

Its flagship Path Onto Prosperity (POP) Programme provides support for children at different stages of life, from the first 1,000 days through to adulthood. Through a range of projects, POP seeks to develop and empower rural youth. Goedgedacht also runs Care for the Planet, which promotes food sovereignty and helps communities build their capacity to thrive. The Goedgedacht Rural Academy, based on Goedgedacht Farm, connects learning across the Trust’s programmes and supports pathways for wider social change.

The organisation invites individuals and partners to contribute through one-off or monthly donations, legacy gifts and olive tree dedications. Its work is supported by donors and friends in South Africa and overseas, alongside efforts to build long-term programme sustainability.
