GOF 2.0 is a pioneering brand that focuses on the safe, secure, and sustainable integration of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and air taxi operations in urban airspace. With a consortium of 15 members, including scientific and commercial partners from the drone and aviation industry, GOF 2.0 is at the forefront of developing technologies and framework conditions to enable the coexistence of UAVs and manned aircraft in the rapidly growing drone market. Building on the success of the SESAR JU Gulf of Finland (GOF) U-space project, GOF 2.0 aims to demonstrate the operational validity of combined unmanned aerial systems (UAS), electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL), and manned operations in a unified, dense urban airspace. By utilizing existing air traffic management (ATM) and U-space services and systems, GOF 2.0 intends to revolutionize urban mobility and reshape the future of transportation. The GOF 2.0 consortium is committed to ensuring safe flight operations for all airspace users and providing fair and efficient access to shared airspace. This project is part of the SESAR Joint Undertaking's initiatives for the safe and secure integration of drones into the airspace, known as U-space. GOF 2.0 is a significant enabler for the further development of the drone market, allowing for the cost-efficient operation of autonomous and semi-autonomous drones beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).
