## Description

Gold Cobs is a specialist numismatic dealer focused on Spanish Colonial coins, especially gold cobs recovered from Florida shipwrecks of the 1715 Fleet and other New World wrecks. Its inventory features rare gold coins from the mints of Lima, Mexico City, Cuzco, Bogotá, Cartagena, Potosí, and Santiago de Chile, as well as Spanish Colonial silver. The business also offers portrait-era Spanish gold escudos, cob and portrait eight reales, and, when available, oro y plata corriente. Collectors can find coins associated with notable wrecks, including Nuestra Señora de la Luz, and selected United States gold and silver recovered from the SS Central America, SS Republic, SS New York, and SS Brother Jonathan. Gold Cobs presents current inventory through a master list, with detailed photographs and descriptions that explain each coin’s history and significance. The site also shares research on rare issues, mint varieties, and shipwreck discoveries, alongside information about numismatic studies and conferences on the 1715 Fleet.
