About
Description
Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan is a 501c3 Nonprofit company dedicated to helping families exit poverty and achieve self-sufficiency. Through their Life Guides Program, families work with a Life Guide coach to set goals and create a path towards a better future. The program spans 20 years, during which the youngest family member will graduate from high school or a high school equivalency program, pursue post-secondary education or trade school, and earn a living wage to lift the family out of poverty.
In addition to the Life Guides Program, Goodwill offers a range of support services. Financial coaching helps families develop healthy money habits and work toward self-sufficiency. Counseling services provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families to navigate life's challenges.
Employment services, including career coaching, job development, and interview skills training, aim to secure higher-paying and more stable employment. Resource navigation connects families to community resources and teaches them to utilize those resources effectively. Participation in the program is free for eligible families, and all participants have access to community resource navigation, counseling, and Goodwill's employment services and financial coaching.
