## Description

The Regional Government of Biobío (GORE Biobío) is the public institution responsible for supporting the development and coordination of Chile’s Biobío Region. Led by Regional Governor Sergio Giacaman García, it works with the Regional Council, local authorities, public agencies and communities on regional priorities. Its website provides information about the region, government functions, council members, public meetings, transparency and ways to contact or submit requests to the administration.

GORE Biobío supports regional projects through funding programs, including competitive grants and the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), and publishes guidance for applicants, financial reports, procurement opportunities and investment materials. Its work also includes citizen participation, regional planning and access to public information. Recent initiatives highlighted by the government include funding for the reconstruction of Talcahuano Market, investment in public transport and efforts to attract business investment and employment. The regional administration is also advancing Biobío’s bid to host the 2030 South American Games and promoting the region’s role in major sporting events such as Rally Chile Biobío.
