With the school year fast approaching, Spartanburg students can look forward to the tax-free weekend from Aug 4-6. During this period, families can take advantage of amazing deals on school supplies, computers, printers, clothing, shoes, and various bed and bath items.

These items can be purchased both in stores and online, providing convenience for all. Additionally, Spartanburg residents can benefit from the back-to-school event hosted by St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, in collaboration with Respect Ya Self, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth.

This event offers free wellness checks, sports physicals, and backpacks filled with school supplies. Families will also receive back-to-school clothing, including dresses, pants, and shirts for all ages. It is an excellent opportunity for low-income and single-parent families as school supply prices have skyrocketed in recent years.

The event will take place from 10 a. m. 5, with the first 200 individuals who sign up through Eventbrite eligible to participate.
