## Description

The Graham Greene Birthplace Trust is a charity established in 1997 to celebrate the life and work of the influential British writer Graham Greene and encourage research and public interest in his legacy. Based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, where Greene was born in 1904, the Trust connects scholars, academics, fans and general readers, helping them share ideas and discover more about his writing.

Its central event is the annual Graham Greene International Festival, a friendly, inclusive gathering held in Berkhamsted each autumn. The four-day programme features talks, films, walks, tours, meals and social events. The 2026 festival ran from 24 to 27 September, with speakers including novelist Jo Baker, broadcaster Robin Ince and biographer Adam Sisman. The Trust also supports research through articles, archive resources, festival recordings and collections, and shares news through its website and quarterly magazine, A Sort of Newsletter. Visitors can explore Greene’s life and work, browse information about his books, and become Friends of the Trust.
