## Description

Grammofonia is a Rome-based showcase for Marcello Pedone’s private collection of antique and vintage gramophones, phonographs, record players, and radios. Created by Marcello and Maria, the site shares their enthusiasm for the history of recorded music, from the late 19th century through the Second World War, with a look at portable music machines from the 1950s and 1960s. The collection includes suitcase gramophones, tabletop and floor-standing models, mini and toy gramophones, external-horn gramophones, handcrafted examples, and early phonographs. It also features valve and transistor record players, including portable models designed to play shellac records and later vinyl formats. Through photographs, historical context, and vintage advertising, Grammofonia presents these machines as both musical technologies and distinctive furnishings. Visitors can explore the collection and contact the owners for information, advice, or purchase-related enquiries. Customer reviews highlight Marcello’s knowledge, professionalism, and patient guidance. Based in Rome, Grammofonia invites enthusiasts and curious visitors to discover the craftsmanship, stories, and sounds of vintage music equipment.
