## Description

Grantmakers.io is a pioneering platform designed to enhance the usability of the IRS 990 dataset for nonprofit professionals. Founded by Chad Kruse, this site emerged from a desire to streamline donor searching, enabling nonprofits to save time and focus on their missions. Grantmakers.io transforms the complex IRS data into an accessible, searchable format, thanks to a collaboration with Algolia, which provides a powerful search tool for the 990-PF portion of the dataset. The brand stands firmly on principles of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), offering its resources at no cost while empowering others to innovate using its code. This commitment to transparency and sustainability makes Grantmakers.io a vital resource for those in the nonprofit sector. Users can easily search foundation profiles and grants, uncovering insights that can inform their funding strategies. With a mission rooted in supporting nonprofit work, Grantmakers.io champions open access to data, ensuring that valuable information remains free and available for all.
