## Description

Grappling Grounds is a martial arts academy in Huntington Beach, California, serving students from Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. Led by Professor Joey Solis, a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and college All-American wrestler, the academy offers training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and self-defense. Programs welcome youth ages five and older as well as adults, with classes designed for a range of skill levels.

Jiu-Jitsu instruction emphasizes practical self-defense and anti-bullying strategies. Wrestling classes cover folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman disciplines, helping students develop grappling skills and athletic ability. The academy also offers women’s self-defense classes, private lessons, drop-in options, and trial classes. Seasonal wrestling camps are available as well.

Grappling Grounds describes its community as a place where students, coaches, instructors, and families share a passion for the sports. Membership plans offer flexible month-to-month options without long-term contracts, and visitors can sign up online or arrange an in-person visit. Through its programs, the academy aims to support skill development, self-defense, and a lasting local grappling community.
