## Description

Grassroots Crisis Intervention is a community-based organization providing free, 24-hour support to children, adults, and families across Central Maryland. It helps people facing behavioral health challenges, substance use concerns, suicidal thoughts, homelessness, or other urgent crises, offering practical assistance and compassionate intervention.

Services include a 24-hour crisis line, support through 988, crisis chat and text, walk-in assistance, and a Mobile Crisis Team. Grassroots also provides substance use disorder services, urgent mental health support, and outpatient care through its Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. For people without stable housing, the organization offers emergency shelter and operates the Day Resource Center at Leola Dorsey, alongside outreach and prevention programs.

Individuals can seek help by calling 410-531-6677 or 988, using crisis chat or text, or visiting the crisis center in Columbia, Maryland. Grassroots also welcomes community support through donations, volunteering, fundraising, and meal programs. Its services connect people in difficult circumstances with crisis care, resources, and shelter when needed.
