## Description

Grassroots Economics is a non-profit foundation that aims to empower marginalized communities and enhance their economic future. They focus on community development through economic empowerment, helping communities realize and share their abundance. Grassroots Economics has a rich history of community programs and has implemented community currency programs in over 45 locations in Kenya and 2 in South Africa, benefiting small businesses, churches, schools, and individuals living in informal settlements and rural areas. Their goal is to improve the lives of vulnerable communities by creating sustainable economic opportunities. Grassroots Economics is currently developing programs all over Kenya and providing technical support to communities outside of Kenya. They have also introduced the Sarafu-Credit program, which allows members to exchange excess vouchers for Kenyan Shillings. Through their work, Grassroots Economics aims to enable communities to take an active role in their own economy and development.
