The City of Grand Rapids is proud to introduce the GRow1000 Youth Employment Program. Launched in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing racial and economic disparities, this program aims to provide valuable work experience and job opportunities to local young people between the ages of 15 and 24. Over the past two summers, the GRow1000 program has successfully placed over 800 youth in meaningful jobs across various sectors, including businesses, nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, and government offices.

Participants in the program will have the unique opportunity to explore diverse career paths while earning a competitive hourly wage, ranging from $13. 00 to $15. 00.

The program duration is six weeks, totaling 120 hours of paid work experience. Through this experience, participants will not only gain practical skills and valuable work experience but will also receive mentorship and guidance from professionals in their chosen fields. Applications for the GRow1000 program are currently open until May 8th.
