Established in 2016, the Great Hollow Nature Preserve & Ecological Research Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to biodiversity conservation, applied ecological research, experiential environmental education, and passive outdoor recreation. With an 825-acre preserve and five miles of hiking trails, Great Hollow offers a haven for nature enthusiasts to explore and enjoy. Their staff and collaborators conduct integrative, conservation-driven studies of wildlife and plants both within and beyond the preserve. In addition, Great Hollow hosts a range of education programs for children and adults, including school programs and a nature-based summer day camp. Visitors can also look forward to engaging events such as outdoor yoga, jazz nights on the patio, and workshops on mindfulness and photography. By becoming a member or making a donation, individuals can contribute to the preservation of this remarkable natural sanctuary. Located at 225 Route 37 in New Fairfield, CT, Great Hollow Nature Preserve & Ecological Research Center welcomes everyone to join their mission of protecting and appreciating the wonders of the natural world.
