## Description

Green Epirus Schools is a school-based environmental education and recycling initiative serving the Region of Epirus in Greece. Its aim is to help students build practical recycling habits and contribute to a more sustainable region through the message, “I learn, I sort, I recycle.” The program supports recycling in 80 primary schools, providing participating schools with designated bins and connecting them through a regional network.

Students collect paper, plastic and aluminum separately at school. During collection, authorized staff weigh the materials and record the amounts, allowing recycling activity to be monitored and displayed online. The website features information about participating schools, collection records, a map of the school network, news and a collection calendar. It also explains how schools can join and take part in the process.

The initiative combines environmental learning with practical waste sorting and transparent reporting. It is funded by the Association of Solid Waste Management Agencies of the Decentralized Administration of Epirus and Western Macedonia, and is presented as a regional effort to encourage recycling among school communities.
