## Description

Instituto Gremar is a nonprofit organization founded in Guarujá, São Paulo, in 2002 and a pioneer in the state’s marine wildlife conservation work. Its mission focuses on wildlife management, scientific research and environmental education, supported by a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 experienced professionals. Gremar provides 24-hour emergency response for wildlife affected by environmental incidents, including animals impacted by oil along the Brazilian coast. Its services include wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, environmental monitoring, laboratory analyses, environmental consulting and education programs in formal and informal settings. The institute also operates rehabilitation facilities and supports research into the health of coastal and marine environments. Its projects include monitoring beaches in the Santos Basin, assessing the health of the Santos Estuary, rehabilitating wildlife, and reducing harm caused by improperly discarded fishing gear. Through partnerships, community initiatives and scientific work, Instituto Gremar contributes to the protection of wildlife and coastal ecosystems in the Baixada Santista region.
