GRIDNET OS is the world's first 100% decentralized Operating System. Designed with the end-user in mind, GRIDNET OS aims to provide a user experience similar to that of DOS, LINUX, Windows, and Mac OS X centralized operating systems. What sets GRIDNET OS apart is its decentralized approach, allowing for seamless interaction with a Graphical User Interface (UI). When a user connects to a node, they receive a Bootloader that encapsulates the IP addresses of other nodes discovered through Kademlia. This Bootloader fetches assets from multiple peers simultaneously, ensuring integrity verification. Despite being in the alpha stage, GRIDNET OS already offers a range of useful UI dApps, including anonymous web browsing, file sharing, encrypted group audio/video streaming, and more. The decentralized SSH Terminal Services enable users to play multiplayer games, employ in-terminal commands compatible with Unix/Linux and DOS, and explore a decentralized file system. Communication on GRIDNET OS is entirely decentralized, ensuring privacy and security without the need for servers. Users can enjoy GRIDNET OS on their mobile devices by downloading the app and following Hexi's guidance to set up their public/private key pairs. Alpha-stage GRIDNET OS is continuously being developed since 2017, and private investments are open, with plans for a public investment round in the future. The GRIDNET OS community encourages freedom, science, innovation, and diversification, inviting users to explore and contribute to the decentralized future.
