## Description

The Grand Rapids Improv Festival (GRIF) is an annual celebration of improvisational comedy held in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Now in its 12th year, the festival brings together improv troupes from across the continent for three days of performances, workshops, and community events. The 2026 festival is scheduled for October 8–10, with events hosted at The Comedy Project, located at 540 Leonard Avenue NW, Suite B.

GRIF is produced by a small committee of local comedians and supported by sponsors, volunteers, and performers. Its program offers audiences a chance to experience a range of improv talent, while workshops provide opportunities to take part in the festival’s comedy-focused activities. The festival also invites performers and groups to submit for consideration, with tickets, workshop information, submissions, and performer details available through its website. With its emphasis on live comedy and community participation, GRIF brings performers and audiences together in the heart of Grand Rapids for a lively, multi-day event.
