## Description

Growing Communicators supports families raising deaf children, helping them build communication, language access and connection with steady, practical guidance. Based in Canberra, Australia, the organisation was founded by Kellyanne, a Deaf Communication Educator, Deaf person and mother of two deaf children. Her lived experience informs a family-centred approach that recognises the uncertainty parents may face after a diagnosis and the challenges of choosing a communication pathway.

Growing Communicators offers individualised sessions to help families develop their Auslan skills and explore communication choices, including bilingual approaches using sign and speech. Kellyanne shares her knowledge and experience to help parents take manageable steps at their own pace and support their child’s confidence and communication development. The website also provides resources and practical tips, including a visual connection guide, and invites families to join its newsletter for ongoing information and support. Families can book a connection call to discuss their situation, needs and possible next steps. Growing Communicators aims to ensure families feel less alone as they navigate raising a deaf child.
