About
Description
Grow Portland is a nonprofit brand based in Portland, Oregon, committed to the cultivation of food and the development of a strong community. We offer a range of products and services aimed at teaching people how to grow organic food. Our three main gardening programs include Community Gardens, where individuals can grow their own food; Garden School, an educational program focused on school gardens; and Community Education, which provides classes and assistance in garden building, including our popular Seed Saving program.
At Grow Portland, we believe in fostering connections to food, nature, and one another. We are proud to support schools and communities by facilitating hands-on garden experiences. Recently, our shed at Harrison Park School Garden was broken into, and we are now raising funds to replace tools and improve security.
We have already received support from generous individuals and organizations, but we welcome any additional contributions through our donation page or Venmo. We are excited to announce that NECA-IBEW Local 48 will be sponsoring our Garden School Programs for the 2023-2024 academic year, demonstrating their dedication to quality, competence, and integrity. Additionally, we want to express our deep gratitude to all our volunteers.
Their ongoing commitment to our mission has helped our gardens thrive, and we are immensely thankful for their support. If you would like to get involved and help school gardens flourish, we invite you to join us for Grow Portland work parties, happening regularly this spring at our partner schools. Tasks include mulching pathways, rebuilding raised beds, and installing irrigation systems.
You can sign up for our Work Party Volunteer Interest Form to receive all the details. To stay updated on our initiatives and events, we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter. By doing so, you will receive regular updates and be part of our mission to empower individuals through gardening education and community building
