## Description

GRÜNE LIGA is a German environmental organisation that connects member groups, citizens’ initiatives, and individuals working to protect nature and promote sustainable development. Its work spans a broad range of environmental issues, including water and river conservation, biodiversity, climate impacts, mining and raw materials, pesticides, transport, energy, and the ecological effects of data centres. The organisation shares information through campaigns, events, publications, position papers, exhibitions, and specialist resources, and it supports community initiatives through networking and cooperation.

Current activities include raising awareness of threats to wild rivers, advocating for the protection of orchards and biodiversity, and supporting local groups concerned about lithium extraction and surface mining. GRÜNE LIGA also brings together people challenging the expansion of data centres and examining the environmental costs of artificial intelligence. Its programme includes public conferences, online seminars, and other events, alongside resources on environmental laws and policy. People can get involved by joining a member group, becoming a supporting member, attending events, signing campaigns, or donating.
