## Description

The German Shepherd Dog Breeders Association of Nigeria (GSDBA) is an organisation dedicated to the German Shepherd Dog breed in Nigeria, describing itself as the breed’s custodian in the country. Based in Lagos, the association provides information and resources for owners, breeders, and people interested in the breed. Its educational materials cover the German Shepherd’s origins, breed standard, and general health, alongside information about breed surveys and GSDBA/WUSV harmonisation.

GSDBA supports community participation through membership and activities such as events, shows, and continuous learning. It also maintains a list of reputable German Shepherd breeders who produce puppies, helping prospective owners find breeder contacts. The association provides access to its constitution and offers a studbook service through its online platform.

GSDBA is affiliated with the Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA), identified as Nigeria’s national kennel club, and with the Weltunion der Vereine für Deutsche Schäferhunde (WUSV). Through these resources and activities, the organisation promotes breed knowledge and engagement among Nigeria’s German Shepherd community.
