## Description

Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Vocational Education Center (GSOMEM) is a vocational training institution established to help meet the skilled workforce needs of Gaziantep’s industrial sector. Drawing on examples of vocational education centers in Europe and elsewhere in Türkiye, it aims to connect education with employment and support both businesses and workers. Its programs help people develop practical skills, gain qualifications, and improve their prospects in the labor market, while enabling employers to train new and existing staff.

GSOMEM offers vocational training for entry into a trade, professional development, competency and qualification courses, entrepreneurship education, corporate training, and personal development programs. It also provides forklift and construction equipment training, hygiene courses, and training linked to projects. The center’s wider activities include green transformation mentoring and the Gaziantep Model Factory, which offers training modules and resources for businesses. GSOMEM seeks to develop creative, socially responsible individuals with skills valued by industry, and to address workforce shortages that can constrain technological investment.
