About

Description

G. ST Antivirals is a Vienna-based Spin-Off from the Medical University of Vienna, dedicated to the development of innovative therapies against various viruses. With a focus on antiviral therapy, G.

ST Antivirals applies a unique host cell-based approach to create broad-spectrum antivirals targeting respiratory tract infections. In an effort to combat viral infections that often leave physicians empty-handed, our mission is to develop treatments against the majority of viruses. G.

ST Antivirals aims to address infections of the respiratory tract, including common colds, using our groundbreaking host cell-based strategy. Founded in 2019, G. ST Antivirals originated from pioneering scientific work that revealed specific viral dependencies on host cell metabolic pathways.

By blocking the viruses' access to nutrients, we can completely eliminate viral reproduction. Our unprecedented approach is not only highly effective but also resistant to development of drug resistance. Presently, we are developing a proprietary 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG) nasal spray to target upper respiratory tract infections.

Additionally, we are evaluating pre-clinical candidates for prevention and treatment of virus-associated exacerbations in vulnerable patient groups. We are proud to have published collaborative research with Takeda Global Pathogen Safety, showcasing the efficacy of 2-Deoxyglucose against respiratory tract pathogens. G.

ST Antivirals was also nominated among the top 10 for the prestigious Bridging Science & Business Award. With our lead asset entering clinical Phase 1 at Vienna General Hospital, we have achieved a significant milestone in our development process. At G.

ST Antivirals, we are determined to create groundbreaking solutions to combat viral infections and improve the lives of patients globally
