## Description

Guépart is a French nonprofit association that supports people affected by addiction, along with their families and loved ones. Its approach combines a structured therapeutic program with a supervised “breakthrough journey” abroad, using immersion in a different culture as part of a broader process of recovery and personal reconstruction. The program includes preparation, the therapeutic trip, and follow-up workshops, with guidance from addiction specialists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Destinations mentioned include Mongolia and Kenya. Guépart also offers support for families and caregivers through discussion groups, psychoeducation days, and opportunities to share experiences. Its work is informed by healthcare partnerships, including a completed program cycle with the addiction service at Albert-Chenevier Hospital and the AP-HP. Each journey incorporates a locally developed solidarity initiative, intended to support community priorities and local professionals without replacing established organizations. The association also describes free medical consultations by a French emergency physician and donations of appropriate medical supplies. Guépart aims to extend its model to other addiction-care services in France.
