## Description

The National Resource for Network Biology (NRNB) advances the study of biological networks through open-source software, data resources, visualizations, and computing tools. Its work helps biomedical researchers assemble and analyze networks involving genes, proteins, drugs, cells, and other biological systems to better understand how they function and how they may be disrupted in disease. NRNB supports the Cytoscape network-analysis platform and develops tools for network-based visualization, analysis, and biomedical discovery. Its resources include Cytoscape and Cytoscape.js, the Cytoscape App Store, cBioPortal, GeneMANIA, NDEx, WikiPathways, Enrichment Map, and other applications and databases. Research projects explore methods such as using molecular networks to classify cancer patient groups and deriving cellular structures and processes from interaction data. Alongside software and research, NRNB offers tutorials, courses, workshops, training events, help-desk assistance, and opportunities for collaboration. It has also coordinated numerous collaborative and service projects, helping researchers find and apply network methods to biomedical questions. NRNB is an NIH Biomedical Technology Research Center supported by NIGMS from 2011 to 2025.
