Gujarati Vishwakosh Trust was initiated on 2nd December 1985, with the support of eminent personalities like Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai Patel. The trust aimed to create the first-ever Gujarati encyclopedia, a monumental achievement for the Gujarati language and culture. Over time, key figures such as Shri Sankalchandbhai Patel and Dr. Dhirubhai Thakar joined the endeavor, contributing their expertise and resources. The trust has since organized various events and released publications under the guidance of dedicated trustees like Shri Prakhashbhai Bhagat and Shri Preeti Shah. The Trust's establishment was made possible through generous donations and unwavering dedication to promoting Gujarati knowledge and identity. Dr. Dhirubhai Thakar, a Padma Bhushan recipient, was instrumental in advancing the vision of a comprehensive Gujarati encyclopedia, reflecting his strong commitment to preserving and promoting the richness of the Gujarati language and heritage.
