## Description

The Gunmakers Trust is a charity formed in 2003 to support the craft skills and traditions associated with British gunmaking. As the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers, it works to benefit people and communities connected with the gun trade and related crafts. Its purpose includes advancing practical and technical skills, supporting education, and helping preserve the making, use, conservation and curation of guns.

A central part of the Trust’s work is its bursary scheme, established in 2007, which helps members of the gun trade employ apprentices and develop the next generation of skilled craftspeople. It also offers scholarships for people involved in gunmaking and allied trades, and provides grants to individuals connected with the Worshipful Company and their families when they are in need. Further grants support charitable purposes linked to the trade and to the City of London and other places associated with the Company.

The Trust raises funds through donations and legacies, shares apprenticeship opportunities, and supports affiliated cadet units.
