It all began in 1958, when Guy Foubert, a passionate Belgian chocolatier, and his true love, Liliane, merged their names and created Chocolaterie Guy-Lian. Their love story and passion for the sweetest pleasures paved the way for the iconic Guylian chocolate creations we know today.

One of their most famous creations is the chocolate Seashells. Inspired by a relaxing holiday on the Belgian coast, Guy and Liliane designed and marbled these shells in white, milk, and dark chocolate, filled with delightful hazelnut praline. Each bite brings back the holiday feeling.

Over the years, Guylian has expanded its range of chocolates, including the Opus range, La Trufflina truffles, Temptations Seahorses, and the Belgian Master's Selection. They also fulfill consumer demand for chocolate bars with their new production line. In 2022, Guylian relaunched with a new look that pays homage to their past and present.

Along with the new packaging, they made the switch to 100% Fairtrade cocoa in all their products, ensuring sustainability. Guylian chocolates are produced in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, by their Master Chocolatiers. With over 175 employees, Guylian is proud to be 100% Belgian chocolate.
