## Description

Godiva Voluntary Medical Responders (GVMR) is a registered charity serving communities across Coventry and Warwickshire. Working with West Midlands Ambulance Service and the NHS, its volunteer responders support emergency care while relying on public funding and donations. When dispatched to 999 calls, they provide an initial assessment and treatment before ambulance crews arrive, helping patients receive timely care. GVMR also offers medical cover for a range of events throughout the region, bringing trained responders and essential equipment, including defibrillators, oxygen, airway and breathing kits, and trauma supplies. Beyond emergency response, the organisation runs community training sessions that teach members of the public how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). GVMR emphasises compassionate, patient-centred care, competence, and ongoing learning. Its team includes Community First Responders and fundraisers, and the charity welcomes people interested in joining or supporting its work. Founded in 2018, GVMR states that it covers a population of approximately 0.9 million and responds around the clock.
