G×G (ジー・バイ・ジー) is a professional e-sports team operated by the Yomiuri Shimbun. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support of G×G, the e-sports team operated by the Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters. Since 2019, G×G has been participating in the professional league of the digital card game genre called Shadowverse.

In the 22-23 season, our 4th season, G×G achieved 2nd place in the regular season for the first time and also made it to the championship for the first time since the team's establishment. However, as a professional team, we have decided to take a period of consideration in order to continue responsible management that provides a competitive environment and financial stability for our contracted players, while also ensuring satisfaction for our fans through match results and fan services. We have determined that it would be difficult to earnestly face these challenges while participating in the upcoming season, and thus we have decided not to participate in the 23-24 season.

We deeply apologize that we will not be able to meet the high expectations of our many fans who have supported us wholeheartedly. Currently, our five players are undergoing negotiations for transfer contracts with other teams. We plan to announce the destinations of each player's transfer through team broadcasts in the future.

We will continue to support the players in a respectful manner, respecting their intentions and cooperating with the league operator. We believe that the world of e-sports has the potential to continue expanding. During this period of suspension, we will confront the challenges head-on.
