## Description

The Haags Historisch Museum is a museum devoted to the history of The Hague, sharing stories that help explain what makes the city distinctive. Its collection includes more than 14,000 objects, with a core collection considered important to the city’s history. Visitors can explore collection highlights, view works featured elsewhere, and discover stories through exhibitions, articles, and podcasts. Topics include colonial history, the city centre, and the life of Alexine Tinne.

The museum is currently closed while it undergoes renovation and expansion, with plans for a renewed museum experience. During the closure, its website provides updates and information about activities and ways to engage with local history. These include guided tours of the Old Town Hall and Paleis Kneuterdijk, city walks, lectures, and opportunities to see Jan van Goyen’s View of The Hague in the Atrium. The museum also offers activities for school groups and private parties, and participates in Museumkwartier Den Haag and the Network for The Hague Migrant Heritage.
