## Description

HaarspendeHelden is a German nonprofit organisation dedicated to helping children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer, alopecia or other health conditions. Founded around a promise in 2018 and established as a charitable limited liability company in May 2025, the organisation turns donated hair and financial contributions into hope and practical support.

Its central service is providing custom-made real-hair wigs, carefully tailored to each recipient and their wishes. Wigs are offered free of charge or in exchange for a small voluntary contribution. Each one takes approximately 200 to 250 hours of handwork to create and costs between €3,500 and €5,500, so monetary donations help fund production and reach those who need a wig.

People can support the mission by donating a cut ponytail or money. HaarspendeHelden also invites hairdressers to join its salon partnership community, providing information, materials and social media support to help collect hair donations. Through these services, the organisation aims to restore confidence, comfort and a sense of normality for young people.
